HIZUMI’s approach in photography was spontaneous and followed what caught his eye in the moment. Partly documenting impressions of the trip, partly capturing striking sceneries and details, he went with the flow curiously. The decision to combine his Nikon D610 with the wide-angle lens Sigma 12-24 mm F4,5-5,6 II DG HSM let him focus on a larger perspective and a few close-up photos, instead of zooming into distant details and sections.
In order to move around as freely as possible, HIZUMI wore no camera strap. Instead, a hand grip attached his Nikon directly to his palm—much like a natural extension. When he wasn’t shooting, he carried the camera in a belt bag, which allowed him to stroll around loosed and relaxed.
